Qualifications

You will be invited to participate in screening procedures if you meet our eligibility requirements.  This determination can take place by filling out our on-line survey (which can be found on this website under “Procedure for Volunteering”), by phone (416-946-8707), or by booking a meeting on-site. 

To be included in this study you must:

  1. Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
  2. Be in good health
  3. Be free of any chronic illness, including hyperprolactinemia,
    thyroid, or metabolic diseases
  4. Regularly menstruating or no menstrual period for at least 3 months
  5. Participate in aerobic and/or resistance training for at least 2-3 hours per week
  6. Not be taking any form of hormonal therapy for at least 6 months, including oral contraceptives (ie. “the pill”)
  7. Be at least 5 years from your first menstrual cycle
  8. Be weight stable
  9. Not smoke
  10. Not be pregnant or planning a pregnancy during the course of the study
  11. Not consume medications or dietary supplements that are incompatible
    with measuring hormones or metabolism
  12. Not be currently diagnosed with a clinical eating disorder or
    other clinical psychiatric disorder
